Sono 63 le complicazioni integrate, precisamente: 9 per la misurazione e regolazione del tempo; 7 per il calendario perpetuo gregoriano; 11 per il calendario perpetuo cinese; 2 per il calendario perpetuo agricolo cinese; 9 per le indicazioni astronomiche; 4 per il cronografo rattrappante (preciso al quinto di secondo grazie al ritmo di 2,5 Hz del movimento); 7 per le funzioni di sveglia; 8 per la grande sonnerie (con carillon Westminster riproduce la melodia del Big Ben e suona l’ora e i quarti al passaggio, può essere ascoltata sempre, attivando la leva della ripetizione dei minuti sulla carrure a ore 6) e 6 per le altre funzioni.
I componenti invece sono 2.877, i rubini 245, 31 le lancette e 9 i dischi per questo record mondiale, ma la sua unicità sta anche nel calendario perpetuo cinese, caratterizzato dal ciclo complesso e irregolare tipico del calendario lunisolare: il calibro di Manifatura utlizzato (3752) è stato programmato fino al 2200, e per realizzarlo ha richiesto l’esperienza di tre orologiai e 11 anni di sviluppo (uno interamente dedicato all’assemblaggio).
“[…] Tranne l’apertura del tourbillon, questo orologio a due facce non presenta scheletrature sul movimento. Solo aprendo l’orologio ci si rende conto della portata del lavoro. Inoltre, i tre orologiai che hanno realizzato questo segnatempo e la maggior parte delle decorazioni non hanno scelto la via più facile. Il calibro, infatti, ha una finitura sabbiata e satinata che non ammette errori, poiché qualsiasi alterazione lascia tracce indelebili. È quindi facile capire perché è servito un anno intero per assemblare questo segnatempo”. Spiega Christian SelmoniI, style & heritage director.
Il design di Les Cabinotiers – The Berkley Grand Complicatio, con i suoi 98 mm di diametro, 50,55 mm di spessore e 908 g di peso totale, prende il nome dal committente, e ricorda la Reference 57260 del 2015.
Il lato anteriore di questo segnatempo in oro bianco è essenzialmente dedicato alle diverse indicazioni del calendario tradizionale cinese che vanta mille particolarità, tra esse l’indicazione sul lato del fondello – tramite una lancetta centrale – dei 24 periodi solari dell’anno agricolo, accompagnata dalla durata dei mesi, dalle stagioni, dai solstizi e dagli equinozi.
È un orologio astronomico per eccellenza e affronta anche le particolarità del calendario gregoriano, progettato su base perpetua, ossia fino al 2100, un anno secolare non bisestile che segue la riforma del calendario giuliano decisa dal Concilio di Trento nel 1582. Per quanto riguarda i riferimenti astronomici, oltre ai calendari, sul fondello è visibile anche una carta celeste con le costellazioni osservate in tempo reale a Shanghai. Per motivi di precisione, il disco celeste compie una rotazione completa in un giorno siderale.
Prima ancora che la Reference 57260 fosse completata, è stata commissionata la sua gemella non identica.

There are 63 integrated complications, namely: 9 for time measurement and regulation; 7 for the Gregorian perpetual calendar; 11 for the Chinese perpetual calendar; 2 for the Chinese agricultural perpetual calendar; 9 for astronomical indications; 4 for the split-second chronograph (accurate to one-fifth of a second thanks to the 2.5 Hz rhythm of the movement); 7 for alarm functions; 8 for the grand sonnerie (with Westminster carillon plays the melody of the Big, chimes the hour and quarters as it passes, and can always be heard by activating the minute repeater lever on the caseband at 6 o’clock); and 6 for other functions. Instead, there are 2,877 components, 245 rubies, 31 hands and 9 discs for this world record, but its uniqueness also lies in the Chinese perpetual calendar, characterized by the complex and irregular cycle typical of the lunisolar calendar: the Manifatura caliber utlized (3752) was programmed up to 2200, and to make it required the expertise of three watchmakers and 11 years of development (one entirely devoted to assembly).

The design of Les Cabinotiers – The Berkley Grand Complicatio, with its 98 mm diameter, 50.55 mm thickness, and 908 g total weight, is named after the patron, and is reminiscent of the 2015 Reference 57260.
The front side of this white gold timepiece is essentially dedicated to the various indications of the traditional Chinese calendar, which boasts a thousand particularities, among them the indication on the side of the case back – by means of a central hand – of the 24 solar periods of the agricultural year, accompanied by the duration of the months, seasons, solstices and equinoxes.
Les Cabinotiers – The Berkley Grand Complication is an astronomical watch par excellence and also addresses the particularities of the Gregorian calendar, designed on a perpetual basis, that is, until 2100, a secular non-leap year following the reform of the Julian calendar decided by the Council of Trent in 1582.
As for astronomical references, in addition to the calendars, a celestial chart with constellations observed in real time in Shanghai is also visible on the case back.For the sake of accuracy, the celestial disk makes one full rotation in one sidereal day.
Even before Reference 57260 was completed, its non-identical twin was commissioned.
